UC Berkeley Department:

My research involves methods and tools for the design, development, and deployment of document-centric applications. I’m especially interested in approaches that span the traditional divide between narrative document types and transactional ones, since most applications involve a mixture of both and a common modeling framework is essential for semantic clarity and interoperability. I am also heavily engaged in the evolution of “services science,” a new, interdisciplinary field that combines social science, business, and engineering knowledge needed for organizations to succeed in the shift to the service and information-based economy.
