Certificate
Requirements
Students must complete 2 Core MOT courses and 6 units of MOT Related courses
to obtain the certificate. Note that the requirement is at least 6
units of Related courses. Depending on student course selection, units
could exceed 6. There are a total of nine Core MOT courses and more than 50
Related courses from which to choose.
Courses
and Grade Policy
Most MOT core courses are cross-listed with Engineering and Business Administration
course numbers. Cross listing ensures that there are seats allocated
for students in both disciplines.
All MOT courses are for letter grades only. Students must receive a grade of
B or better in all MOT classes to qualify for a certificate.
With the exception of the Five Year EECS Program participants, students participating in the MOT Certificate Program can not take MOT courses as an undergraduate and have the courses count towards their MOT Certificate.
Non-MBA Students: There are a number of MOT-related courses offered by the Haas School that are not cross-listed. These courses are open to non-MBA students who have met prerequisites, provided there is space available. At the beginning of each semester, the MBA Program Office, Room S440, Student Services Building, Haas School, provides information packets for non-MBAs interested in taking business administration courses. The packet includes a list of courses that most likely will have space for non-MBAs and a form for requesting a seat in these courses. This packet is not available until the first week of classes. If the course you want has prerequisites, you will be asked to attach a photo copy of your transcript. These requests are processed the third week of the semester. If there is space available, you will receive e-mail instructions on how to register through Tele-BEARS.
