Sara L. Beckman, Faculty Co-Director Haas School of Business Sara Beckman is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the MOT program, for oversight of all MOT program activities, and for representing the Business perspective in joint program decisions. Bio: Sara Beckman teaches new product development and operations management at the University of California’s Haas School of Business. Since joining the Haas School faculty in 1987, she developed, institutionalized and directed the school’s Management of Technology Program, initiated new courses on design, entrepreneurship in biotechnology, new product development, and work and workspace design, won four awards from MBA students for excellence in teaching and received the Berkeley campus Distinguished Teaching Award. Her present research interests lie in the general area of innovation management with specific explorations of the role of design in business, environmental supply management and development of operations strategy. |

Shmuel S. Oren, Faculty Co-Director Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Shmuel Oren is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the MOT program, for oversight of all MOT program activities, and for representing the Engineering perspective in joint program decisions. Bio: Dr. Shmuel S. Oren is the Earl J. Isaac Chair Professor in the Science and Analysis of Decision Making in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at the University of California at Berkeley and former Chairman of that department. Over the last twelve years he has served as the Berkeley site director of PSerc - a multi-university Power Systems Research Center sponsored by the National Science Foundation and industry members. |

Andrew M. Isaacs, Director of New MOT Programs Haas School of Business Andrew Isaacs is leading efforts to explore new activities that may be spun out of the MOT program and continuing to run the Mayfield Fellows program. Bio: Andrew M. Isaacs is a successful scientist, technology company executive, entrepreneur, and educator. He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of technology business leaders and has a strong track record of helping young entrepreneurs launch their careers. Isaacs has worked at the crossroads of advanced technology and business innovation for 25 years, ten of those years at UC Berkeley, helping start-ups and established technology companies create and execute successful growth strategies. |

Shizuka Kuroiwa, Media and Communications Haas
School of Business Shizuka Kuroiwa’s primary responsibilities are designing and overseeing the strategic direction of the Management of Technology (MOT) Program and MOT-China Program websites. Shizuka creates and produces all MOT and MOT affiliated program's advertisements, publications, logos, and artwork. Shizuka also assists with MOT Program events. |
